- These gondolas
are moored looking over
the canal to the Islands and
the sun is rising and
creating tremendously
interesting lights and colours
in the skies. Oil Pastels
and soft or chalk pastels are
a wonderful medium to
capture vivid colours and
that's why I used them here
in a very loose sort of
fashion. The shapes of
the gondolas
make a beautiful design and
the sun shining on the
blue canopies forms
a harmonious accent to the
blue of the canal facing the
blue lagoon and being picked
up again in the blues
of the sky.
