- I used Oil and soft pastels
to depict this solitary
doggie doing his rounds at
the canal edge, hoping for a
piece of a gondolier's lunch.
This scene is very colourful
and is from the Jewish quarters
in Venice where the houses
are painted in a variety of
colours and have those
small, square windows
unlike front-line Venice that
has opulent palaces and
arched windows and
doorways with marble pillars
and statues. I loved the
harmony of the colour of
this scene and the
perspective showing
Venice's never-ending
narrow calles.
